First Grade Curriculum: Fur, Feathers, Skin & Scales: PRINTED VERSION

$385.00

A nature-based, 32-week curriculum that guides you step-by-step in teaching first grade outdoors. Thoughtfully crafted to support learning without overwhelm, this 586-page resource includes everything you need to teach Language Arts, Science, Handwork (Making), and Art (Nature Journaling).

The print version consists of 2 books (1 for each semester) printed on high quality paper with a durable laminated cover and easy to use spiral binding. They are meant to fit in your backpack and go with you and your child out into nature for lessons. These are really, really nice and well worth the printing cost! If you were to print them on your own, it would cost you well over $100 to print 586 pages.

The year is divided into eight 4-week blocks, each centered on an animal: Newt, Salmon, Bear, Human, Owl, Rabbit, Robin, and Snake. Your child will explore each animal’s biology, habitat, behavior, and cultural significance—through story, song, games, making, and journaling.

And yes—they’ll be learning to read and write, too.

Rooted in our philosophy of Learning Through Nature, While in Nature, Ohmapi is designed to nurture a deep, lasting connection with the natural world. With just 3 days a week of structured lessons, there’s plenty of space for play, creativity, and other interests.

Although this curriculum shows you exactly how to teach first grade, I understand that every child is unique, and every homeschool rhythm is different. So, use this curriculum in the way that best fits your family. Follow it to the letter or pick and choose. Let it inspire your own ideas or work your own ideas into it. It is here to support you.

Created with love and intention, this curriculum is more than a guide—it’s a warm companion for your family’s learning journey.
